Our Neighborhoods' Solution

We note that, in the developer’s materials, there is a design option that simply extends each of the cul-de-sacs with an emergency access road, allowing the neighborhoods to maintain their character and safety - this would be in keeping with the 2017 Master Plan that promotes preserving the character of existing neighborhoods, avoiding unnecessary wetlands disturbances, and providing for public safety. This option would also preserve additional open space and eliminate the need for extra wetlands crossings, while at the same time permitting Mr. Mastroianni to develop his property. He will be developing his property one way or another - this option would have the support of both the Chamberlain Street and Whalen Road neighborhoods. Now it's up to us to convince the Town Planning Board to approve this option.

Hopkinton has been going thru a massive development stage over the last few years. It's time to get ahead of some of it before the construction stage. We want to be pro-active in this sub-division as opposed to re-active, because we believe we should be involved in how our neighborhoods grow and evolve.
